narnia

Our morning post about group mVs created hundreds of unusually emotional comments and I even received a nasty email from mVs itself threatening us with some actions (huh?). The proud sceners were really mad after people accused them of stealing releases from p2p sources. All I did was a polite reply linking to this older post, which was also nuked for a stolen p2p source. And now, few hours later, everything becomes even more clear: a Russian website Interfilm.ru released their telesync of Prince Caspian and group iAPULA pred the very same release on the scene as their own. That’s also the reason why the sample from mVs didn’t have any audio – they simply didn’t have anything besides the Russian one. I’d also like to point out, that Interfilm tracker is used by majority of scene groups as a source for R5 rips, they just replace Russian audio with the English one. So the connection between p2p and the scene (which tries so hard to hate all p2p users) is really tight and this latest case just proves that the scene couldn’t really work that good without all people using torrents and other filesharing applications. It’s a sad news for those of you with a real scene heart, but as you can see, there’s no border at all and the final downloader is the one who benefits from it most.

Finally, a few words about this release: it’s a very decent 2 CD telesync with great image but the audio is Russian so it’s quite useless for most of you. It would be fine to see the “Russian” tag in the release name instead of READNFO – I’m pretty sure many users will be really pissed when they download this and realize it’s not English…

A year after their first adventure in Narnia, Peter, Susan, Edmund, and Lucy are pulled back in by Susan’s magic horn. They find that hundreds of years have passed, and Narnia is now ruled by the bloodthirsty General Miraz, uncle to the true heir, Prince Caspian, now in exile. Now the children must find Caspian and help him depose Miraz…but how will they get home after it’s done?

Vulnerabilities corrected:
**************************
The following low risk vulnerabilities were patched in MP1 for Kaspersky Internet Security 7.0

KLV07-11 Kaspersky Anti-Virus License Protection Vulnerability

Kaspersky Anti-Virus license protection vulnerability could have been used to compromise machines if the date of
the computer was set to that of an earlier date than that of the license period. Malicious software could have
used this method to disable the product by simply changing the date a year back.

KLV07-12 Klif.sys driver – NtCreateSection param error vulnerability

Driver klif.sys incorrectly processed NtCreateSection parameters which causes system failure. This piece of code
is now removed from Kaspersky Internet Security

KLV07-13 Klif – Haxdoors of the Kaspersky Antivirus 6/7

Malicious code executed locally caused a system failure due to unsafe code in klif.sys driver. This code has
now been removed.

All three of the vulnerabilities listed above were low risk, which means that users need to manually launch the
malicious code before computers are at risk. In any case, it is recommend that all users download and install
MP1 to patch these vulnerabilities.
